What a historic moment at Mount Zion! On May 11th, 2025, under the pastoral leadership of Bishop Joseph W. Walker, III, we established the sacred role of Church Mother across our campuses. This historic moment reflects our deep commitment to generational wisdom, spiritual covering, and godly mentorship. It marks a new chapter in our church’s journey one that honors the legacy of women who have lived lives worthy of spiritual imitation.
These women embody the heart of Titus 2:3–5: “She teaches what is good, encouraging the younger women to love, to lead, to live with dignity and purpose.” With gentle strength and timeless faith, they have poured into generations wellsprings of wisdom, beacons of truth, living testaments to God’s enduring love.
We are proud to honor the following women:
• Mother Sandra Hunt – Brentwood Campus
• Mother Peggy Wiley – Jefferson Street Campus
• Mother Barbara Gray – Antioch Campus
• Mother Ella Ford – OHB Campus
We thank each of you for your steadfast example, your nurturing heart, and your unwavering devotion to God and His people. Your presence is a gift to this house, and your legacy will continue to shape generations to
come. Please join us in celebrating these remarkable women as the first-ever Church Mothers appointed under Bishop Walker’s leadership—a moment we will remember as both historic and holy.
